Watering Your Tulips

Use fresh cold water with no additives to increase the life of the tulips.

Preferably not treated with a water conditioner. Avoid adding pennies, sugar, lemon-lime soda, Aspirin, or bleach to the water. Change water every couple days.

Avoid Direct Sunlight

Tulips are sensitive to sunlight and can wilt easily if they are exposed to excessive heat. Keep them in a cool spot and away from a sunny window.

Trimming Stems

Trimming stems on tulips is optional. Some say to cut on a diagonal with a sharp sheers. Be sure to remove any foliage that will be immersed in the water.
